April 2024.
Google employees had
3 demands.
#1
End Project Nimbus, Google
and Amazon’s $1.2 billion
cloud computing contract
with the Israeli military.
#2
End the internal culture of
hate, abuse, and retaliation
against Arab, Palestinian,
and Muslim workers.
#3
Address the health and
safety crisis among Google
workers resulting from
Google’s work on Project
Nimbus.
FIRED
THEM.
Here’s what happened

For years, Google and Amazon have directly supported the Israeli government and military through their secretive Project Nimbus contract.
When the Gaza genocide escalated in the fall of 2023, tech employees around America pressured the companies to terminate the contract and end their complicity in the atrocities being committed by Israel. But they were met with censorship and intimidation – and for Arab workers, increased marginalization and harassment.
In the spring of 2024, the activists escalated their demands by holding historic coast-to-coast rallies and sit-ins, exercising their lawful right to protest and oppose discrimination. It took less than 24 hours for Google to respond with unprecedented retaliation and repression, culminating in the illegal firing of 50 workers.
Here’s what happens next
Since the illegal firing, the former employees have built a robust legal case against Google, including not only a lawsuit but also a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) complaint and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges.
They’re continuing the fight to defend workers’ rights, engage other tech workers in the movement, and keep eys on the Gaza genocide – and Google’s role in it.
